Deleting user profiles using GPO
Hi there,We're trying to implementthe policy which removesUser Profiles older than 14 days (try and keep HDD space under control) But, well, it doesn't seem to be working for us.The specific policy is "Delete user profiles older than a specified number of days on system restart"I've done some searching and the only thing I've found that has caused profiles to not be deleted is Windows Defender making modifications to the users NTuser.dat file. We've turned off Defender, and altered the policy to only 2 days, searched for files within the folder for anything that's been modified during those 2 days etc and it's all sweet except that the profiles still won't delete.Unless I'm missing something there are a stack of user profiles that should be deleted, but they're not. We're running Windows 7 Enterprise and these profiles are standard, not roaming.I'm at a loss here, any ideas?

Is the issue in a domain and you apply this policy via the server? If so, what is the system of your domain controller? Does the issue occur on every Windows 7 clients? Please note that only the idle users profiles will be delete if you configure this policy. If a user has been logged on during these days it would not be deleted. You can temporary disable the anti-virus and then check if the issue persists. If the issue still occurs, please let us know if you can manually delete the user and profile.Arthur Xie - MSFT
