Desktop icons disappear after restart in Windows 7 Pro RTM
I have installed Windows 7 Pro RTM, and every time that I restart, the desktop icons vanish. I right click the desktop, select the view desktop icons option, and they reappear. However, this setting does not save when the computer is restarted, and I must repeat the process every time. Is there a setting that could be conflicting with the view desktop icons option?Any insight would be greatlyappreciated.

When we choose show to now show desktop icons, system will change the following value in registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced --- a value named "HideIcons". Please manually change the data of the value "HideIcons" to 0, restart the computer to see if issue still exists. If so, I suggest that let's create a new account to see the result.
