Dim Display gone in RC1?
Just wondering if anyone else is having this problem. In the last public beta build, there was an option to "Dim the Display" in the Power Management control panel. It's gone on my RC install. I've checked everywhere and I can't seem to find anywhere to change the dim the display options. A related issue is that my display stays at the same brightness whether I'm on a battery or power supply. I am running Windows 7 RC1, 7100 on a unibody Macbook under Boot Camp, with a NVidia 9400M and the latest Windows 7 driver from NVidia (185.85). I did a completely fresh install of the RC1. Any advice?

Tlon, I'm almost certain that this feature was not removed in the RC, as this article specifically mentions it as a new feature. Although I'm not running Windows 7 on a display that supports dimming and as such can't access that feature, this leads me to believe that perhaps something has changed in the way that Windows 7 identifies Macbook hardware between the Beta and the RC. I'd suggest contributing to this thread (careful - it may take some time to load!) so that this can potentially be fixed for the final release, if it is indeed a bug.-Alex

Thank you, Alex. The link to "this thread" seems to take me back to this thread. Is there a particular thread that I should post to?
