DirectAccess and NLB
I'm trying to figure out what the supported ways are of setting up DirectAccess. Till now I came up with the following scenario's: 2008R2 + DA feature 2008R2 + DA feature + TMG on it (this scenario is described on a technet blog (http://blogs.technet.com/b/isablog/archive/2009/09/23/forefront-tmg-and-windows-7-directaccess.aspx ), but i'm not sure this is actually supported, option could be choosen for the extra layer of protection as the DA server is domain joined & internet attached) UAG configured for DA UAG in a NLB array configure for DA (to achieve high availability/ bear a higher load) Am I correct that on 2008 R2 NLB cannot be used to make a "regular DA" (option 1) server high available? Will this change in 2008 R2 SP1? As I read on several places from the release notes: Enhancements to scalability and high availability when using DirectAccess DirectAccess is a new feature in the Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 operating systems that gives users the experience of being seamlessly connected to their corporate network any time they have Internet access. In Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, improvements have been made to enhance scalability and high availability when using DirectAccess, through the addition of support for 6to4 and ISATAP addresses when using DirectAccess in conjunction with Network Load Balancing (NLB). Thanks for any feedback.http://setspn.blogspot.com
