Disable Ipv6
I am trying to disable Ipv6 en Tsedo tunneling Interface thru Registry. Am a administrator so it is nog user specific. I know it can be done manually but want to user registry. Have made a key: HKLM\system\currentcontrolsert\services\Tcpip6\parameters\DisabledComponents with a Dword value tried several 0 and ffffffff Hexadicimal. but with no effect. The issue is that i want to ping the machine and not returning a ipv6 adress. When someone pings the machine a ip4 adress must be returned just like XP. How can i do this thru the registry? freddie

Hi Freddie, The registry key that you have set is correct. As it is Machine setting, please try to reboot the computer after you modify the registry, and then check if IPv6 has been disabled. Besides, you may also try to disable IPv6 through following commands in the elevated command line prompt. (Run as Administrator) netsh interface teredo set state disable netsh interface 6to4 set state disabled netsh interface isatap set state disabled Hope it helps.
