In Windows XP, whenever I try to disk defrag a window comes up that says "program cannot display webpage." I did not realize defrag needed to access the internet; futhermore, my internet connection works fine as evidenced by this post. Defrag never gave me problems before, but, for some reason, it now does not work. What do I do?1 person needs an answerI do too

You are correct that Windows defrag tool does not need to access the internet. Have you scanned for malware lately? I recommend you download, update and choose a quick scan with Malwarebytes.
