I am at the point where I am about to seriously look into MDT2010 as an imaging/deployment solution. However, I am a little confused as to the documentation that is available. I am initially working from a .PDF that I have which is entitled "Deploying Windows 7: Essential Guidance from the Windows 7 Resource Kit and Microsoft Technet". Within this, I am told that MDT2010 includes the following documentation (broken up into three general categories): · Technical Guides o Application Packaging Guide o Deployment Customization Guide o Microsoft Deployment Kit 2010 Samples Guide o Microsoft Deployment Kit 2010 Management Pack o Image Customization Guide o Preparing for LTI Tools o Preparing for Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager 2007 Imaging Guide o User State Migration Guide o Workbench Imaging Guide · Reference Guides o Toolkit Reference o Troubleshooting Reference · Quick Start Guides o Quick-Start Guide for Lite Touch Installation o Quick-Start Guide for Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager 2007 However, when I actually downloaded MDT2010, I only saw a fraction of these documents. What was actually there is as follows: What's new in Microsoft Deployment Toolkit 2010 Quick Start Guide for Lite Touch Installation Quick Start Guide for SCCM 2007 Quick Start Guide for user driven installation Using the Microsoft Deployment Kit Microsoft Deployment Toolkit Samples Guide Microsoft Deployment Toolkit Troubleshooting Guide Microsoft Deployment Toolkit Reference Release Notes I did notice that the "Using the Microsoft Deployment Kit" document was almost 500 pages long. After quickly looking though the table of contents for this document, my thinking is that this consolidated and replaced all of those individual Technical Guides.
