Does Bitlocker to go work on secure USB flash drives?
If you force Bitlocker to Go encryption on all flash drives via Group Policy, what happens if someone plugs in a USB flash drive that has built-in encryption? Will it work? What is the user experience?

Hi, To clarify the situation, please let me know the following information. 1. What does built-in encryption mean? Is it a hardware encryption USB or encrypted by Bitlocker to Go before? 2. Which group policy did you apply to force Bitlocker to Go encryption on all flash drives? If you enabled "Deny write access to removable drives not protected by BitLocker" policy, all removable data drives that are not BitLocker-protected will be mounted as read-only. If the drive is protected by BitLocker, it will be mounted with read and write access.Niki Han TechNet Community Support

Yes, it would be that policy. I'm talking about the off the shelf USB drives that already have built-in encryption. I assume enabling that policy would apply Bitlocker to those devices. Would it work? Would the user end up with 2 passwords?

Hi, The built-in encryption USB may vary due to different types. Based on my test, Bitlocker to Go can encrypt the USB flash drive which has been encrypted. I need to type two passwords to access the USB flash drive. Niki Han TechNet Community Support
