Domain Authentication & SQL Server
Hi, I have a client laptop running Vista that is not connected to a domain. This machine uses remote desktop connect to connect to a Windows Server 2008 that is connected to a domain and runs a SQL Server 2008 instance. When using Windows authentication to connect to the SQL Server, the user is rejected. The event log indicates the username/password is unknown and the information indicates the credentials are not the user's domain login, but those of the laptop. (Since the laptop isn't in the same domain, the windows authentication login fails.) I assume this is a client setting, as all other users (using Windows7 and XP) can successfully connect. Is there something I can change to allow this user to use windows authentication ? Thanks.
