We are a school district running both Windows 7 and XP on our machines and we commonly get an error that says: "the trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed." Now we know to solve the problem you simply leave and rejoin the domain. But with the DeepFreeze program we use to stop the kids from making any changes it's very tedious and time consuming to have to reboot 4 times in order to fix a simple domain error. So if there is anyone who has found a cause for this and can tell me how to fix it, it would greatly appreciated. Additional information: running Windows Server 2008 R2

in Windows Server 2008 R2 > Administrative Tools > Active Directory Domains and Trusts. Right click the domain name > Manage > Find the computer in it's OU and reset account. Regards, MCP MCTS MCITP

You need to make sure that your "DeepFreeze" program is not affecting computer system account. Computer system account needs to be able to initiate password change every 30 days with domain controller. What i am thinking is: Computer is changing the password, but the application is restoring the old password on the first reboot and as a result creating the missmatch on what is found on domain controller and the local SAM. The result of that is "the trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed." Try giving computer account the rights to the "DeepFreeze" software so the computer itself is allowed to make changes.
