Domain user added to the local admin group but cannot access control panel.
Brand new 2k8 domain with plenty of xp machines added. The users that use the xp machines had their domain user accounts added to the local admins group on their machine. However on the windows 7 machine after I add the users domain user account to the
local users group, when logged into that users domain account I cannot open Control Panel at all. It say's permission denied. Is this a UAC issue or a group policy issue or something else entirely and how can I fix it?Thank You, Andrew M. Morgan Microsoft Solutions Engineer 304-841-5766 or 304-581-4919

The control panel is control.exe located in c:\windows\system32\ so if your users can't open that , i suggest to look at the permissions on that file. Users should have read and execute.
If you want to find out about any GPOs, you can run gpresult.exe /H gpreport.html.
Hope this helps.
