Manage your Startup so Arcsoft Video Downloader doesn't start with Windows. Then go to Add/Remove Programs and you will be able to uninstall it.Start>Run>msconfig [enter]This brings up the System Configuration Utility. Look on the Startup tab and find the probable culprit. Uncheck the box next to its name, Apply and OK out. You don't need to restart immediately, but the next time you do you'll get a dialog saying you've used the Utility. Just tick the box that says in effect, "don't bother me about this again".Important - Do not use the System Configuration Utility to stop processes. Instead, use Start>Run>services.msc [enter]and do not stop any services unless you really, really know what you're doing. How to Troubleshoot By Using the Msconfig Utility in Windows XP -http://support.microsoft.com/?id=310560The free Autoruns program is very useful for managing your Startup -http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/default.mspxMS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!

Glad that sorted the ArcSoft issue for you. I don't know what you mean "download YouTube".YouTube is a website where you can go to watch videos which people have uploaded. You should be able to see YouTube videos by opening your browser (Internet Explorer orMozilla Firefox ) and going to the website. You need to have the latest Flash Player installed in order to watch YouTube videos. Get the Flash Player fromAdobe.com . If I've misunderstood what you mean, please clarify. You are the best advisor I have had the good fortune to meet.I should have said to download sequence dance videos from 'You Tube' Web Site.We have taken up sequence dancing and some videos are very dark.I download to Movie Maker and lighten the video so I can see the steps. After extensive searches I have succeeded in activating the download button which only appears for 7 secs on the toolbar.Open Real Player > Tools > Preferences > Download & Recording (On left side) > Tick Enable Web Download > OK.Many thanks for all your help.

There might be a better way to download the videos than with Real Player (which is a repellent little program anyway). So I Googled for "how to download youtube videos" and got lots of links. How you do this depends on what format the dance videos are in. I see that there are various YouTube downloaders but I'm always very cautious about installing downloaders. The how-to from WikiHow has links to a lot of utilities and instructions on how to use them.
