Downloading Windows 7 Beta
I have now tried at LEAST 10 times to download Windows 7 Beta, and EVERY time Microsoft File Transfer Manager freezes with 11 or so MB left.I have removed and reinstalled MFTM no less than five times and I still cannot get the software downloaded. How can I NOT download this with MFTM. It jusyt does not work...Getting highly annoyed...A. M. Robinson

Hi, I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble downloading Win7 Beta. I thikn your connection is interrupted or having network issues, thus MFRM kept terminating. But just to confirm, did it just freeze or did it show "Interrupted" in MFTM? Also, are you connecting to the internet directly through the modem, or are you using a router? I might want to suggest that you update your network drivers and see if it helps. See if this helps...?Jabez Gan [MVP] - http://www.msblog.org Contributing Author for: (Sybex) MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Applications Infrastructure Configuration Study Guide: Exam 70-643

My network is fine. It is not getting interrupted - it freezes. The status says ACTIVE with 99% complete. I have downloaded other software with MFTM successfully. I was able to download SQL Server 2008 after having to stop the download (MFTM froze AGAIN), deleted the components, and downloaded again.I am able to download anything I want with NO issues if I don't use MFTM, including VERY large files (2GB+) and the downloads complete with no problems.A. Hi A. M. RobinsonYou have described the problems you are experiencing a couple of times, but you still have not answered the question about exactly 'where' you are downloading the file from?I am just guessing that it is from either the Technet or MSDN Subscriber Downloads website. If this is correct, then you need to go to that website and select the 'Support Tab' at the top of the page for your help options. You will see the downloads support options at the top of that page.Once you download the file, if you have any problems installing or using Windows 7, then you are more than welcome to post back here and we will behappy to assist you. Thanks for understanding. I have problems occasionally with FTM getting confused. Here is what I do to fix it...Removing old FTM transfer request. Delete all entries in C:\Documents and Settings\Computer User\Application Data\Microsoft\File Transfer Manager\RequestQueue OR Delete all entries in C:\Users\Walt\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\File Transfer Manager\RequestQueueI don't know if that will help, it works for me.
