Drag & drop file from server share fails
I have a problem where I have two windows explorer's open (on Windows7). Both are focused on our SB server 2003 file system. The simple problem is dragging a file from one folder on the server to a different folder on the server (from one window to the other). When I drop the file to the new location the operation fails with a 'file still open' error although I know the file is not open or has never been open etc. What I have discovered is that if I do a CTRL-C copy on the file in the first window then close that window before I do a CTRL-V in the second window, everything is fine and the file copies ok. It's like the first windows explorer window maintains a lock on the file until the window is closed. I used to do the same procedure for years and years on the XP Pro machine without any issue. Nothing has changed on the server. I hope someone can help with this one.

Hi, please try to drag the file on server to local pc to see if “file still open” error still occurs. Or you can create other two share folders to check if you can drag and drop file from one folder to another folder.
