Drive Mapping Issue
I am the network administrator for a 2003 Server domain. All workstations using XP. As replacement WS’s are added, they now have 7 Pro. I added a 7 pro workstation for my use. Everything
seems to be fine with one exception; I can not map a drive to manage the folders on the root directory of my servers. I can map a drive to the root of the DC, but it shows nothing. I can still use my XP system to do this but i need to be able to manipulate
data on using the 7 system. The beatings will continue until morale improves!

This is not normal. Are there any errors showing up in the Event Logs of either the server or the Windows 7 machine? Is the behavior the same if you add the server's administrative share as a Network Location instead of a drive mapping? Do
you have any GPO's that may be restricting access by OS version?

I think I fixed it by setting up an admin share, thanks. The beatings will continue until morale improves!
