Drive assignment change on every reboot.
Every time I reboot my computer the D & E drives swap drive letters. This is a problem since I assign my documents to one of the extra drives. I have windows 7 64 installed on a SSD that is drive C, I have no other operating systems installed. I also have two other hard drives, "Things" and "Video". On every reboot they swap drive letter assignment. If I access device manager the drive which is assigned letter D at that time will allow me to change the letter but upon reboot it will revert to D or E. The 2nd hard drive that shows as E in Computer (which can be accessed) will not show an assigned letter in management and will give an error that it needs to be refreshed if I try and assign it a drive letter. Both drivers were on a computer running vista before. There is a DVD drive that shows as F that never changes drive letter.

I was able to resolve the issue by taking the drives that were formatted in Vista and reformatting them in Win 7 RC1.

Open Disk Management, under Storage,in Computer Management. You can open Computer Management by right clicking on My Computer, and selecting Manage. Here, you can right click on a drive, in either pane, and select Change Drive Letter and Paths....Once Disk Management has been opened, the Windows might remember the assignments of the drives.Otherwise, you can try changing the letter of the two drives, such as to T: and V:, for Things and Video.
