Driver disk not showing in disk management

I was deleting a partition from the disk management and after that I realised that my disk management is not showing the different volumes of disk/disk partitions or drivers....it onli shows up in my computer.

And the disk management is only showing the DVD/CD drive...

How do i fix this???????? How do i get them back to be viewed in the disk management?

For a disk to appear in My Computer but not appear in Disk Management is highly atypical. To begin with, I would recommend updating the storage controller drivers with those provided by the manufacturer. You may also want to run the System File Checker (SFC) utility to verify the integrity of your system files as it is not expected behavior for no disks to appear in Disk Management.

To run SFC, open an administrative command prompt, by pressing Win+X and selecting Command Prompt (Admin). At the prompt, enter the following and press enter:

SFC /ScanNow

Hi,

To view the disks in Disk management, System will call the related dll files as below:

mmcndmgr.dll

mfc42u.dll

dmdskmgr.dll

dmdlgs.dll

winbrand.dll

dmview.ocx

comctl32.dll

vds_ps.dll

dmvdsitf.dll

dmdskres2.dll.mui

Brandon is right, please try to run SFC to scan the system files and any error message, please post back the CBS log for further research.

Also, I suggest you run the process monitor tool to collect the PML log file by following these steps and I will help you check in detail:

  1. Download the Process monitor: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx
  2. Run it and then open Disk manager.
  3. Save the log file in Process monitor and make sure you save all events:

Please upload them to a file sharing service like Skydrive or "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.

How to use Process Monitor, please refer to this article:

Look forward to your response.
