Dual booting

I have two operating systems in my laptop windows 8.1 and ubuntu. I do not know what exactly i have done but my laptop has stopped working. When i did on my laptop It is showing 

"error: unknown filesystem

Entering rescue mode...

grub rescue>"

I do not what to do. Please he

Was the boot manage by Windows or Ubuntu?

If it was with Windows, you could insert Windows DVD and try reinstall Windows as upgrade install but if it was managed by Ubuntu, you should ask them.

Grub is the Linux boot manager.   To the OP, I'd ask in an Ubuntu forum, Your Grub boot loader config is either corrupt or you have bigger problems.
