Email folder from windows explorer
I have a new pc with windows xp installed. Have installed office 2003. I use outlook as my email program and it is set as the default mail program. When I try to email a file or folder from within windows explorer it insists on firing up live mail. Why and how can I de-activate this. As it is I have to go into outlook and attach each file individually to an email to send. This was not the case with my old pc running xp and office 2000. 1 person needs an answerI do too

Go into Set Program Access and Defaults and make Outlook your default mailer. By the way, the correct location for this question is http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/outlooksend/threads Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook]

I have looked at the pc running on xp and gone into set defaults. Use 'custom' and for email have use current email ticked. Both outlook expreess and live mail are not selected. We are using msoutlook for our email because it integrates with other software that we use.Apart from your link I would never have known about social.answers. I aleays use answers forums.

answers.microsoft.com and social.answers.microsoft.com are the same site. As soon as you get into one of the forums, the "social" node will get added to the URL.Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook]------------------------------If a reply helps, please vote it as helpful.
