Hello, I'm trying to enable the Vista secure logon(Ctrl+Alt+delete), using "netplwiz", advanced Tab, but the "Require users to press Ctrl+Alt+delete" is dimmed out. I can change the security policy "Do not require CTRL+ALT+DEL" using either Secpol.msc or gpedit.msc. But this only works for the first logon. After that the security policy enables "Do not require CTRL+ALT+DEL again".I've tried changing the registry directly, with the same result. I'm running Vista Ultimate, SP1 and I've joined a Windows 2000 domain. Any ideas ? why is the registry setting rolling back ? One more observation - After making the change using gpedit, the "netplwiz", Advanced tab is checked, but still greyed out. Any help appreciated.Russell.

Russell The only time I saw this particular problem on a setup like yours the problem turned out to be a Fingerprint reader that was installed on the system. The Fingerprint reader used the OmniPass software and an update to that software resolved the issue. Ronnie, Thanks for the reply, I do have a fingerprint reader installed (UPEK Inc), I'll search for an update. I have tried disabling the software at startup, but this made no difference. Regards Russell.
