Enter Network password?
yesterday I just figured out how to push or stream video to my Samsung TV. and through the process I may have entered a password to connect to one of the PCs in the Homegroup. So now even just trying to access that computer via network on windows explorer left pane it'll always ask me for Network Password. Problem is I've entered ALL passwords and ALL usernames possible, even email addresses and still nothing. Already tried : 1. change advanced sharing settings> turn off password protected sharing. 2. adding and removing administrator password 3. leaving homegroup and coming back. 4. checked live account which is the email ad I linked but I couldn't really find anything (didn't search that thorough) 5. Tried ALL possible username/ email/ password combination 6. deleting myself from credential manager. I also read something about deleting password when in credential or user account but there is nothing there. (I suppose that means if I already have a password for the account like when turning on pc you have that. but I don't cuz it's been disabled) So please help me out if you guys know any other way aside from those mentioned above. I use windows 7

Take the backup of the registry Navigate to KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa\ Create a value OldPasswordAllowedPeriod with a value of 0 . http://support.microsoft.com//kb/906305

Hi, According the issue, this issue can be caused by the incompatible Kerberos encryption types. I recommend that you could make the following changes on the Windows 7 computer: 1. Open gpedit.msc. 2. Find Windows Settings -> Security Settings -> Local Policies -> Security Options ->Network Security: Configure encryption types allowed for Kerberos 3. Configure the policy. If it is not configured, actually both DES cipher suites are disabled. I suggest that you enable all the suits. Then please check the result. If the issue persists, please change the NTLM type in Windows 7. You may refer the following article. Network security: LAN Manager authentication level Please change the level to “Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated”.

I dunno if I did anything wrong but I did exactly what you said and still it didn't workout.. Computers on the network still can't connect to me.. Since connection on network is restricted, homegroup is not allowed too. Oh yeah.. this might help and I'm not sure if I mentioned it but it's a one-way connection, I can connect to other computers on the network but they can't to me.. One thing more is that I noticed that in credential manager the persistence for the rest of the computers are local machines while mine is enterprise. I hope that will help some more in solving this problem of mine

I am having the same issue - can connect to other computers both win7 and XP but cannot connect to one of the win7 computers (well sometimes it works, but most of the time it doesn't). I've tried disabling firewalls, uninstalled all virus protection, 6 hours on phone with HP tech support, ran all trouble shooters, tried the username trick. I'm at a loss and not real happy with my new win 7 computer.
