Temporarily disable the firewall a. Click "Start", go to run, type "services.msc", without quotation marks, in the open box. Press Enter. If a proppt shows for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue. b. Right click the "Windows Firewall" service and choose Properties. c. Click "Startup type" option and click "Disabled". d. Click OK and share the printer again. Next, verify network settings a. Navigate to Control Panel and open Network and Sharing Center. b. Select the "Change advanced sharing settings" option in the right panel. d. Please assure that "Network discovery" and "File and printer sharing" are ‘on’. If the error message still occurs, I recommend to reinstall the printer driver, and reset the Printer Spooler and re-test. Make sure the printer driver is the correct one for the printer and operating system and is not corrupted.
