Error code 0x8100002F
I get the following error when using Windows 7 backup feature: Windows Backup skipped C:\Users\Kevin\Documents because is it on corrupted drive C:\. You would think if my C: drive was corrupt there would be other issues I would notice?

it can happen... i would run chkdsk c: /v /f from the admin command line. it will say it cannot lock the volume and schedule a check upon reboot... say yes then reboot.

Thanks for the reply, I have done this 3 times already with the same results. Nothing was found wrong with the drive in fact nothing was found on any of the 3 drives that are in line with the system. I have run several other test to check the drive for any inconsistency or errors and have come up blank.

Hi,It seems the issue is related to your Libraries. Does this issue occur if you only backup none-system disk? Based on my research, this issue may occur if Windows Backup skips some files while WindowsBackupcan't find them. This is the system disk and the errors are directly related to my user name. If the system cannot find the files and throws errors then whats the point of doing a continuous backup? The reason to have the task run on a continuous basis is to update the backup. Perhaps I was to quick to dump Acronis to perform my backups? Also my error does not indicate that it could not find the files it is saying that the C: drive is corrupt, the files it says it cannot backup do in fact exist and have not been changed. How can I confirm that the C: drive is in fact corrupt and its not the backup utility that is corrupt?

Well it seems this forum will no longer allow me to sign in with my default user. At any rate i did that as well with no useful information. I have since dumped the system and reinstalled Windows 7. I will re-run the backup again and see what the results are.

Hi,I hope it works since you have reinstalled Windows 7. However, if the issue persists even after reinstalling Windows, it may be related to hardware problem. I kindly recommend you to run disk check software to check the disk health.Good Luck.Dale Qiao
