I recently re-installed Windows XP Pro, after doing the update things. I now do not have my "Add Remove Software" icon in the control panel.Also I get the above error when I try to create a new short cut.Any assistance will be most appriciated

Hi, This behavior can occur if the Appwiz.cpl or Setupx.dll file is missing or damaged. I would suggest you to run the SFC (System File Checker) scan on the system and check whether the issue is resolved. Follow the steps mentioned below.a. Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator.b. Click Continue or supply Administrator credentials if prompted. c.
