Error message: You do not have permission to access this network resource
I have 4 computers on a peer to peer network (1x7, 2xXP 1x98). As of today one of the XP machines will not show the network when I try to access it via "My Network Places". It says I do not have permission but when I serch for computers I can find and connect to all the others on the network. Also all the others can connect to the problem machine. It was working before for many years. I can access the internet via the router and ping the other computer with no problem. How can I sort out the problem ?1 person needs an answerI do too

I have a partial solution but would still like to know what might cause the problem. This worked:1. Turn off the Windows firewall2. Connect to the workgroup, and then to a computer3. Turn the firewall back on4. Use the network resources5. Reboot the computer and now computers are visible when I click the workgroup name without turning off the firewall. But the question is "why did it go wrong, and what have I done to sort it?"
