Event viewer shows startup errors related to software no longer installed
I've been having startup problems (slow, wireless adapter sometimes won't start) and decided to check the Event Viewer. Every startup has the same three errors:1- "The Powertweak NT helper service failed to start due to the following error: The system cannot find the file specified."2- "The Cyberlink RichVideo Service failed to start due to the following error: The system cannot find the path specified."3- "The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load: TfFsMon, TfSysMon"Each of the referenced items is a remnant of software once installed. Apparently the uninstall didn't remove everything. None of them show up in the Add/Remove control panel. As an experiment, I searched the registry for the two drivers. I found the entry for each one, backed it up, and then tried to delete it. In both cases I just got a plain error message and was unable to delete the item. So, I'm wondering where I should go from here? I really don't know if it's safe to try deleting any Powertweak and Cyberlink entries from the registry. Other suggestions? 1 person needs an answerI do too

Hi okieseeker,If the programs are no more running on the computer, then you can remove their entries from registry. We recommend you to backup and remove the program's startup items from the registry. To do this, try these steps:a. Click Start, click Run, type regedit and hit enter.b. Expand My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Runc. Right click on Run and backup the registry.See Backup the registryd. Click Run folder in the left pane and remove the problematic programs items from the right pane on Registry Editor Window.e. Restart the computer and check the result.Very important: Modifying the registry incorrectly will cause serious damage to the computer. Backup the registry before you make any changes.See Backup the registryVisit our Microsoft Answers Feedback Forum and let us know what you think.
