Hi,
Based on my research, I would like to suggest the following:
1. From the log you attached, I just found there might be some ports blocked, if you have a firewall installed, please check it. If you are using Windows Firewall, please add some rules for the ports to see how it works:
Add or Edit Firewall Rule
2. Meanwhile, I would like to share the following with you:
Windows Firewall setup for Microsoft FTP Publishing Service for IIS 7.0
3. Please update the software to latest version. If it is not for Windows 7, please also run it with Compatibility Mode and check the results.
Regarding this issue, since it occurs on a specific program, it is recommended that you contact Ipswitch for further investigation.

Hi, thanks for your answer 1. and 2. even when i disable the firewall in the control panel - or add two rules for port 21 on tcp and udp to allow everything on this port - i get the same feedback from these ftp programs 3. running in compatibility mode doesn't help either... and since all ftp programs have this problem here it's not a program specific problem
