Failed to create Directx device
I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on a Vaio laptop and occasionally I get "Critical Error, Failed to create Directx device" if I leave an unbfinished game of Freecell open. I always get a Devicex error when my system dose a checkup. How do I fix this error?

Try this for your check up error. A disk check like that often fails because it is detected too late in the windows startup. The way around it I have used is to request a scheduled disk check by going into the drives properties. On the tools tab press Check Now. It will start to do the check, realize that it can't and offer to schedule one on the next boot. Press yes and then ok out of the properties and then restart your PC. It should perform the check disk during the restart. If all goes well this will also reset the flag which caused the original request. As far as the Critical Error, Failed To Create Direct x Device I think after you do the 1st thing in my answer it might be solved. Let us know. You can update your Direct X at the following link. http://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/confirmation.aspx?id=35

Is the manufacturer's website Vaio (my laptop) or Microsoft? I get a "Directx Device error" everytime I do a system check, but don't know how to fix it.
