Failure configuring windows updates reverting changes loop
My new Asus windows 8 laptop is stuck in a loop. It reads Failure configuring Windows updates Reverting changes do not turn off your computer. It will stay here so 10-20 minutes then restart automatically and go back to the same screen. Every solution I see wants me to run a program or a troubleshoot or something, but I can't access anything from this screen.

Hi,

To get this issue fixed, we need to restore the system back the point when the system work fine.

Before this, please help to copy out %windir%\windowsupdate.log by command prompt in WinRE.

If you get the DVD for Windows 8 installation, please follow these steps to get system restore:

1.Insert the Windows 8 installation disc in the drive, and then restart the computer.

2.When you are prompted to start from the disc, press any key.

3.Tap or click Repair your computer.

4.Tap or click Troubleshoot, and then tap or click Advanced options.

5.Tap or click your version of Windows 8, tap or click System Restore, tap or click the restore point you want, and then tap or click Next.

6.Follow the onscreen instructions to perform the System Restore, and when prompted, restart your computer.

If not, but you have the recovery partition for WinRE, please follow the introduction from manufacturer to know how to enter the WinRE, and then do the system restore.

Hope these could be helpful.
