Faxes from one multi-function machine printing to another

Hope this is the right forum to post this question.

Have a Canon MF4800 that my wife faxes from daily.  The faxes always print out on another printer, a Brother MFC8910.

Both machines are connected to our home network.

The faxes always go thru' to the fax destination, with the exception of occasional bad line condition errors.

The opposite doesn't happen; i.e., faxing from the Brother doesn't result in prints on the Canon.

Also, this is a recent development.  The Brother MFC8910 was installed several months ago, replacing a Brother MFC8440.  The 8440 wasn't network capable, and was connected directly to a PC.  This has only occurred since the installation of the MFC8910.

Anyone have any ideas about how to troubleshoot this?  I am a network novice.

Thanks in advance.

Hi mtbdude,

Both of the two machines are wireless printer ,right ?

Have you tried to disconnect the Brother MFC8910 from the network and then have a check ?
This will help us to verify whether the Canon MF4800 can work correctly ?

If it won`t work ,we will try to troubleshoot the issues of  Canon MF4800.Maybe we need to reinstall the driver for the Canon MF4800 machine from the device manager .We may need to download the driver from the manufacturer for it.

If it worked well , we can set it as default printer to have a check .Considering you have two printer machines ,this may be the issue .
1.Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search.
2.Enter Devices and Printers in the search box, and then tap or click Devices and Printers.
3.Press and hold or right-click the printer you want to use, and then tap or click Set as default printer.

Here is a link for reference of setting default printer.
