Feedback from MS
I completely agree. It would be nice for someone to say at least what kind of feedback are they getting and whether it is useful, doable, good idea or what. I would too like to (eventually) know what was implemented based on the community input. Though in fairness, it is probably way too early for that so maybe in a couple of months.

Windows 7 Beta is not supported. They set this up so they can read what people have to say, but they are under no obligation to respond.

These forums were setup to help deal with issues from all users. The moderators have direct communication with a Microsoft representative for this program. Most of the MVP's here are present by invitation - and MVP's have access to their MVP Lead and other MVP resources at Microsoft. There is an amazing amount of feedback present on the Connect website and dealing with just that must be overwhelming for the Win7 team at Microsoft. Imagine fielding feedback from all the beta users - especially if they're not trained in submitting feedback! As with Microsoft Error Reporting, there's very little "visible" feedback given - unless you have a problem that is identical to a specific set of criteria (and that there's an answer for already). Being beta software, there's very little that's been answered already - so it's less likely that there will be a specific solution for your exact issue. - John

The forums are a great place for the community to share information... A usasma mention, the Moderators (Mostly MVPs) do compile and forward hot issues directly to the Microsoft Team. As far as a MS presence, there are also quite a few MS employees who have been working the boards.Joe

Joe =============OK, I understood that it are the MVPs who compile the questions/requests/suggestions/supplications of all of the real day to day users of Windows 7 (the OS that will make or break MS in the difficult coming years). If that is indeed the case, then I lost confidence in this forum - I am really sorry. So what kind of answer were you looking to see?

Who better to represent the voice of the community than the leaders of the community. If you're look to give Microsoft direct feedback regarding Windows 7 you can simply click on the Feedback link that's noted at the top-right of each windows.Joe

Hi Picsoe With several million usersparticipating in theWindows 7 public beta, I'm sure you can understand why it would be very problematic trying to respond to everyone who is offering feedback. If you just want to be assured that your feedback is being received by the Windows 7 development team and included in their decisions, we have an official feedback mechanism in place on this forum. Go tothe following thread. Have Comments about Windows 7 Beta? The feedback posted to that thread is periodically collected by the Forum Owner (A Microsoft employee) and sent directly to the Windows 7 Product Team. Go to that thread and simply click Reply in the first message to post your feedback. Hope this helps. Ronnie Vernon MVP
