Few proccesses are draining the CPU power and the battery
Hi,Using Windows 7 on my MSI laptop.I notice that the vent is working most of the time. Checking the Resource Monitor, I found thatfew proccesses are the cause of the mess:1. Microsoft Windows Search Filter Host2. Microsoft Windows Search Indexer3. Microsoft Windows Search protocol Hostand sometimes:4. Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service. When I disable those proccesses averything is smooth as silk, otherwise slow and noisy (the vent).Any ideas?amir

Although there are several services you could disable, disabling Windows Search will you w/out the improved search capability. Once the indexer is finished its initial index, its load and footprint is quite small.

Well, it's a bit better right now, but still from time to time, it wakes up, and then things are really slowing down.I am using sufficient CPU (T7300). Search - although important - shouldn't cause such a footprint on system resources IMHO.Amir.
