File sharing between two W7 PCs
Hello,I've two Win7 PCs, plus an XP and a Mac. On both Win7, I've anonymous files shares setup; same goes for XP and Mac.The problem is: any permutation of access works (7->XP, 7->Mac, Mac->7, XP->7), EXCEPT for when I try to access Win7 machine from the other Win7 machine. In that case, I am asked for username and password, and even when I provide it, it still doesn't let me to get in. Both computers use the same username and password. It's a regular flat LAN (Linksys WRT54GL, DD-WRT); build 7100 is a generic PC (Intel DG31 chipset), build 7201 is a Dell Inspiron 6400. Is this a known problem? Am I missing an obvious piece somewhere?Thank you.Regards,Ilya.

All of the network accesses you mentioned are anonymous accesses. Is it correct? If it is the case, I suggest that you delete the HomeGroup you setup on the Windows 7 RC computers. Additionally, the build 7201 is not a officially released RC version. It may have problems with 7100. I suggest that you change the system to 7100. Also I would like to declare that we do not support unofficial versions in this forum.Arthur Xie - MSFT
