Folder Options not sticking for Standard User
Hi there, I have a strange issue that i am able to duplicate on all my PC's that I have just deployed. If a user is logged in as a Standard User and they try to set the following settings (below) it will not stick. Ie; it will reset after log off / reboot. 1. Folders options > View > 'Always Show Menus' 2. Task Bar and Start Menu Properties > Start Menu > Customise > (Any setting in here) I have not tested all settings but I found that 'Folders options' > 'View' > 'Hide extensions for known file types' does actually stick... (?) If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great. We are running Windows 7 Enterprise. I have just installed SP1 on a test machince also and had the same results. Thanks in advance. Regards, Fernando

Hi, Thanks for posting in Microsoft TechNet Forum. After checking this issue, I would like to confirm the following details: 1. Does this issue only occur to folder options settings and Start Menu settings? How about other settings, such as Internet Explorer settings? 2. What is the type of your user profile? 3. Does this issue happen to Administrator Users? 4. How did you create your Standard Users? Currently, please try to create a new local user account in Windows 7 to check what the result is. If this issue persists, go to Event Viewer to check if there is some useful information. Meanwhile, I suspect it may be related to the Windows 7 image. How do you create your Windows 7 image?
