Folder Redirection
Win Vista Entiprise Editionwill not re-direct the "My documents" folder as defined in the Win 2003 server group policy. We have noted that, in Vista, the personal folder is simply called "Documents" unlike in Win 2003 where it is refered to as "My documents"

Hi Bongohuzz,
In a down level domain environment such as 2003 domain, Windows Vista is smart enough to check the folder redirection settings and to apply them as if it was a Windows XP machine. That is, if My Documents is redirected through group policy then Windows Vista will enable redirection of Documents, Pictures, Music, ect to match the down level configuration.
Regarding this issue, please confirm if the group policy has been applied to the Windows Vista machine.
In addition, Ive included some Windows Vista folder redirection known issues for your reference:
Folders on a Windows Vista-based client computer are not redirected as expected in a Windows Server 2003 domain

When you redirect the Documents folder on a Windows Vista-based computer to a network share, the folder name unexpectedly changes back to Documents

Hope it helps.
