Folder redirection of Documents library in Win7 via GPO
Hello,
We're having problems getting the documents folder/library to stop looking at c: and look to the network.
Folder redirection from the Documents folder is currently configured:
'Basic - Redirect everyone's folder to the same location' and 'Redirect to the user's home directory'
'Grant the user exclusive rights to Documents is checked'
'Move the contents of Documents... is UNchecked'
'Also apply redirection to Windows 2k... is UNchecked' (this is just Win7 clients)
Radial button next to 'Leave the folder in the new location when policy is removed' is selected.
When I try and include our network location, I get a indexing error:
'This network location can't be included because is it not indexed.'
Offline folders are enabled.
Any ideas on why documents isn't being redirected correctly?
Thanks,
Drew

Hi,
To check if the network location is indexed, you could try to add it into library. If it fails, try to check if the network folders/files are read-only which cannot
be indexed.
In addition, I notice you have posted a thread in Windows Server Forum. In order to avoid any confusion, I suggest we focus on one post each time. It will help you
find the solution in the most efficient way. If you get any feedback or update on another post, please feel free to share here. It will greatly help other users who have the same issue. Thanks for your efforts.
Best Regards,

Hi Niki,
Sorry for the confusion, Mr X recommended I post in a different forum (see above) - should I just delete this thread?
Well what's weird about the indexing is SOME of the libraries map fine, others don't.. for instance, My Music/My Videos/My Pics map fine, but My Documents does not.
Thanks,
-Drew
