For some reason I can't get full administration right to my own laptop?
I am running Windows 7 64 bit AMD w/ up-to-date security settings, and recently went to move things around and noticed I do not have FULL permissions on my own computer? When I tried to apply full permission in the Advanced Security Settings for Local Disk (C:), I receive a massive amount of errors: “an error occurred while applying security information to: C:\Boot C:\bootmgr C:\hyberfil.sys C:\Page File C:\Program Files C:\Program Files (x86) (multiple upon multiple in the files and folders in this directory especially with Norton 360 remier Edition Folder/Sub-Folders/Files) C:\Windows Access is denied.” I have researched and researched EVERYWHERE, and noticed I'm not the only one and some people have been answered with, "If you cant change the perms, then don't". Well this is my personal computer and I spent MY money on it so I feel I should have COMPLETE OWNERSHIP of it. Any help would be most graceul.

How to Grant Permissions in Windows 7 1. Locate the file or folder in which you want to take ownership in Windows Explorer. 2. Right click on file or folder and select Properties from the Menu 3. Click on the Security tab, then click the Edit button. Click OK to confirm UAC elevation request if needed. 4. Select user/group from permission windows or click add to add other user or group (you may need to do this for multiple users - ex: administrator and your own user account). 5. Now under the Permission section check the rights which you want for the user i.e check "Full Control" under the "Allow" column to assign full access rights control permissions to the user. 6. Click OK for changes to take effect, and click OK again to exit from the Properties window. You might need to Create an Administrator Account To create a user account To open User Accounts, click the Start button, click Control Panel, click User Accounts and Family Safety, and then click User Accounts. Click Manage another account. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. Click Create a new account. Type the name you want to give the user account, click an account type (admin), and then click Create Account.
