Forced automatic logoff after logging on with new user
Hi,
I'm having a bit strange issue on one laptop (HP 6440b) running Windows 7 Professional. Problem is logging in with a user that doesn't have administrative rights, once i try to log on with a regular user it automatically logs me off after logon.
Problem occurs on both domain and local accounts. This problem occurs only on one computer in the domain and there are no special policys applying to it. There's no real errors on the eventvwr logs, just notifications of logon and logoff.
Anyone have any ideas what might be causing this?

Hi,
Thanks for posting in Microsoft TechNet forums.
This issue occurs if the Userinit key in the Windows registry has been modified.
Please follow these steps:
1. Log on the computer as an administrator.
2. Start Registry Editor, locate the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
3. In the right pane, right click Userinit – Modify.
4. In the Value data box, type hard_disk:\Windows\System32\userinit.exe
(hard_disk refers to the disk on which Windows 7 is installed), Click Ok.
Note: Before you change the registry, please backup the original key in case of unexpected issue.
Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method. These problems might require that you reinstall the operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that these problems
can be solved.

Thanks a million! This solved the problem.
Reason why it initially did even occure was HP ProtectTools... damn that crappy software, ain't the first time it's causing some problems.
In the userinit there was this after the normal userinit.exe: ,c:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\HP ProtectTools Security Manager\Bin\DPAgent.exe
