FoxTab PDF Converter malware?
I downloaded this seemingly useful free software the other day, having cursorily checked it out as being a Firefox product. It displayed a printer error message while loading, plus an inability to access pages on its website. I Googled it and came across warnings that it was malware and difficult to remove.I have run my McAfee which gives my computer a clean bill of health. What should I do?1 person needs an answerI do too

Know the fact ,that in today's Internet world Malware appears in any form..They dont have a distinguished name shape size or feature..malware authours try to mimic names of every software starting from tiny utilities until branded comanies such as Microsoft....If there are posts/information/speculations that warns you about malware activity in those program, it is better to avoid it (Never mind whatever security software you have , It is all the User's conscience that you allow a amalware to install so your security software will also allow it)..Try for some alternate software that can serve your purpose for Eg the following is a list of software that i got when i googled "PDF COnverter""freepdfconvert.com ; primopdf ; dopdf ; pdf995 ; hellopdf etc..."Its wise to go with an alternate when we know there is going to be a danger in our primary path :-)Hope this helps ! ksreek Microsoft PSS

sometimes, poorly written software or poorly maintained computer can simply result in instability and appears to be an infection. what you can try is to delete the parent folder for that program under program files. then run ccleaner to remove its orphaned entries from the registry. -- db`...><)))> ."ksreek" wrote in message news:6799b1d3-d07b-4f9a-96cc-337de8472122...Know the fact ,that in today's Internet world Malware appears in any form..They dont have a distinguished name shape size or feature..malware authours try to mimic names of every software starting from tiny utilities until branded comanies such as Microsoft....If there are posts/information/speculations that warns you about malware activity in those program, it is better to avoid it (Never mind whatever security software you have , It is all the User's conscience that you allow a amalware to install so your security software will also allow it)..Try for some alternate software that can serve your purpose for Eg the following is a list of software that i got when i googled "PDF COnverter""freepdfconvert.com ; primopdf ; dopdf ; pdf995 ; hellopdf etc..."Its wise to go with an alternate when we know there is going to be a danger in our primary path :-)Hope this helps ! ksreek Microsoft PSS db`...>-)))> `...>-)))> share the nirvana mann

I deleted the Foxtab folder via Search, but I'm told "Windows can't find 'ccleaner'" when I enter it in Run.

After my last post, I did a bit more searching and came across a post elsewhere recommending the use ofREVO UNINSTALLER PRO .I downloaded the 30 day free trial offer, tried it and, was so impressed, I promptly bought a copy.http://www.revouninstaller.com/

Download CCleaner Slim/No Toolbar version(bottom of page) from here, http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/buildsSince you have used Revo to unnistall very few if any registry orphans will remain. CCleaner has the "Registry" function to accomplish this but most people generally frown on using any Registry Cleaner as unless you are experienced they tend to do more harm than good. The"Cleaner" function of CCleaner using "Stock/out of the box' settings is useful for removing junk. Revo has some similar cleaning abilities in Tools>Optimization and Tracks Cleaner.

well, it isnt always necessary to buy such utilities especially since you may never need to use it again. but in any case, the program may have executed the same method I mentioned, i.e. delete folder and remove its registry keys. what it likely cannot do is to make a final pass on your system to ensure your master file table and hard disk are in check after removing files and folders. so I recommend to go ahead and tune up your hard disk and file system by running a check disk on your hard drive and a defrag. to do so, simply right click on the drive via explorer and select its properties page and then tools.-- db`...><)))> ."Wealey" wrote in message news:4100ab18-61c7-4f66-8a59-cc1504b88117...After my last post, I did a bit more searching and came across a post elsewhere recommending the use ofREVO UNINSTALLER PRO ..I downloaded the 30 day free trial offer, tried it and, was so impressed, I promptly bought a copy.http://www.revouninstaller.com/db`...>-)))> `...>-)))> share the nirvana mann
