Freeze and mouse problem

Hello

It seem my mouse doesn't work when I try to select (right click) a option into the restauration menu (inside the start screen), I can see the cursor and move it but right and left click doesn't work. To select something I have to use the arrow and press enter.

Also, I used to be able to multitask when playing a game, but now, when I open a game window and go back to the desktop, even if I can move the mouse and see it, each time I right or left click I get pull back into the game screen.

Last but not least, my laptop seem to freeze sometime when I ask it to do muliple thing, it didn't do it prior to my latest update for window8 and my upgrade to 8.1. It seem that this happen when my hard drive goes around 100% capacity but again this is strange because this is literally the same built as before and I am barely using my computer when this happen (browsing the start screen and trying to strat Chrome).

Hi,

This issue seems to be related to performance or high CPU usage.

As I understanding, this issue began to happen after you update to Windows 8.1, am I right?

I consider this issue can be caused by incompatible with Drivers, please open Device Manager and check updates for all devices, if there are some, please install them.

Also, I suggest we test the issue in Windows 8.1 Best performance mode:

  1.        Press the Windows Key + x to open the Power User menu, then open the Control Panel.
  2.        Now choose System, click the Advanced System Settings link in the left pane and choose the Settings Button under the Performance Tab to conjure your performance options.
  3.        Change the Visual Affects setting to Adjust for best performance.

To do the further troubleshooting, please help to capture the CPU trace by using WPT (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/4847.install-the-windows-performance-toolkit-wpt-en-us.aspx) and refer steps in this article to trace CPU and disk usage via Performance recorder during your action produce this issue:

WPT: WPR/Xperf: Capture high cpu, disk i/o, file, registry, networking, Private bytes, Virtual bytes, Paged Pool/Nonpaged pool and/or application slowness.

Once down, please upload the .etl file into SkyDrive or Similar ones and share the public link here for our research.

Keep post.

I did what you say (update driver and step 1-3) but nothing changed.

I also found out that I can' use my mouse in the start screen at all even when it is running an app. I can move it but I can't click on things.

The multitasking isssu seem to have resolve itself.

But after further investigation it seem that the freezing isn't related to CPU usage because when I start my laptop I see in the task manager that my CPU is at a 100% but later when my computer freeze when I am changing app (changing setups, opening chrome and loading a game, etc), multitasking or just opening 1 application, sometime my laptop freeze and the task manager show: Processor 3%, CPU 25%, memory 43%.

In these moment, the app that I am currently using keep working and I can select and click with my mouse, but the second I drop it to the task bar and dry to select something else my mouse can't click and open a new window even though the task manager show that nothing is even remotely used at 100%.
