Fresh install of Vista, no networking drivers?
Hi, I just installed a fresh copy of Vista on my laptop and am now receiving errors for networking drivers--better yet, the network connection wizard is telling me the drivers aren't even there. The laptop has wireless functionality, yet in my current location I do not have access to a wireless network; I currently have the computer wired to a router. Should I try plugging it directly into the modem? Or should I seek out an area that has wireless and see if I can connect through that? HELP!I should also note that I do not have a disk for any of my drivers as I had planned on downloading the necessary ones once I had installed this fresh copy. Does anyone have an idea of what options might be available to me?

Does anyone have an idea of what options might be available to me? If the system also lacks a driver for the NIC (hardwire connection) - does that work, either? - then your best option is going to be to use another PC to download all of your drivers from the manufacturer's support site, and burn them to a CD so that you can install them on the laptop.Install order: chipset drivers, then everything else.Lesson learned: download your drivers before you install Windows.

Hi LobotomyEyes, You also can download drivers from another computer, and copy the drivers to a external disk. Then, copy them to your computer. Hope it helps.
