From Vista Ultimate to Win 7
Before I use Win7 RC, my computer was running Vista Ultimate. I heard that when Win7 is released, those running Vista will get a free upgrade, is this true? Will I still get the free upgrade to replace the RC version?

You listened to the wrong sources. You will get a free upgrade (possibly + shipping fees) if you bought or buy a new PC with Vista preinstalled + Win7 upgrade option (coupon), or if you bought or buy a retail/OEM/SystemBuilder version of Vista + Win7 upgrade option (coupon)after June 26th, 2009. If you bought Vista Ultimate earlier, then you won't get a free upgrade unless any new offer is made. oldfreeze - Not quite sure where you heard that, but it's not true. There seem to bea LOT of people out there who seem to think Microsoft should do that, but it's not going to happen. Microsoft DIDhave a deal in the US where you could have gotten the upgrade fairly inexpensively - $49.99 for the Home Premium version and $99.99 for Professional - but that offer expired July 11th.
