Go back in any window
Guys
The go back function in any window changed from XP to Win7. In XP, the go back always took you one directory up. In Windows 7, it will take you to the last position. For eg: if you are in c:\dir1 and click on a shortcut inside that which takes you
to c:\dir1\desktop\icons\clear and then hit back, it would take you back to dir1 while in XP it would have taken you back to c:\dir1\desktop\icons
Is there any way to get the XP-type behavior back?
Thanks!

In the path bar of the Explorer window, you can click on any of the folders listed there to go to that folder. It is not the exact functionality that you are looking for, but is very similar.
In the picture below, clicking on 'Local Disk (C:)' would take you up one folder.

Hi,
In Windows 7, the Up button is removed by design. You can click on address bar directly to back to the previous folder.
For example, c:\dir1\desktop\icons\clear, if you want to back to
icons folder, just click icons in address bar.
If you want to Up button back, you may need third party software.
Best Regards,
Niki
