Going Going Gone Disk Space on C
This machine has 225 gig drive. Of this 41.5 gigs is being consumed by something and it's all in thie Installer folder. What is in here and how, if possible, do I ever clean it out? It also has tons of *.msp files in it.thanks1 person needs an answerI do too

Hi, In which directory is this installer folder located?You can also use a simple program like SpaceSniffer to show you where your space on your drive is being used up and by what. (SpaceSniffer is free and is available at www.uderzo.it/main_products/space_sniffer/)

It is in the windows folder. I can see it when I do a space user/sizer from a space manager..it is c:\windows\installer\and the many many subfolders just occuping space. How do I delete them and it safe to do so???gollnick

Hi, The problem is, that this folder is there to help install and uninstall programs and patches. So if the files are removed you may find issues with updating or unistalling that program at a later date.Firstly have a look at the Windows Installer Cleanup tool this will help you clean up any left over installation files on bad installs.There is another tool which can remove these installer files but it kind of works that same way as just deleting them. There can be issues later
