HDMI default Audio Devide gets switched when KVM is switched.
You are using a third party piece of hardware and the hardware is causing problems! Contact IO-GEAR for assistance with this problem, Windows can only react to the hardware, so don't claim this is a Windows issue! Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. I have an IO-GEAR 2 port HDMI KVM switch tied to a 27" Viewsonic HDMI input Monitor. I routinely use the KVM to switch between my work and personal computers sharing the same monitor, keyboard, and Wireless Mouse. Everything works fine except that everytime I switch to the alternate computer Windows somehow detects that my Default Sound Device (Which is the HDMI) is no longer connected and changes the default sound device to speakers instead of the HDMI. I constantly have to shange the default sound device back to the HDMI setting everytime I switch the KVM. Is there a way to set the default sound device, and prevent windows from changing it back to Speakers everytime I switch the KVM? I suspect this is a WINDOWS issue, but I will also pin this to the IO-GEAR support site as well.
