Has anyone received updates since 8/2/09?
I have not received any updates since August 2, 2009 for any Microsoft products of which I have many. Given Microsoft's history of providing timely updates, it seems highly unlikely that there have been no updates in that length of time. Even after performing multiple checks for updates, none were found. However, I checked the Forefront site yesterday and found that I was 12 updates behind on the client security definitions. Is anyone else experiencing this problem and/or might you have any ideas on how I mightresolve it?Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.Thank you,Michael

Hi Michael, did you ever find a fix for this, I have exactly the sames issues with Forefront on W7. My DAT's get "stuck" at 2nd August, even though my XP clients are getting newer DAT's fine.I can manually download the DAT's each day, but we are looking at rolling out W7 on our domain so this would be a stumbling block for us.By-the-way we install with the /nomom switch.ThanksCraig.

Hi Craig,Unfortunately not. I was so desperate that I even tried to run the Windows Update "fix it" in aggressive mode, which by the way, I would strongly discourage. I have this posted in 3 forums and nothing has worked. As you indicated, they can be downloaded manually but that is an unacceptable solution. My next step is to go to the RTM release with the hope that it will work. What concerns me about not knowing what triggered this, is whatto do if it happens with RTM and I cannot find a solution.Thank you for the confirmation that my machine is not the only one affected and if I find a solution, I will let you know and would sincerely appreciate the same.Michael

I was doubting weatherI was recieving updates and found that it actually provides updates not always by scanning but on specified dates referenced to the install date to form a predictable sequence of update installs (and this pattern is noticable if you have reinstalled the operating system several times) comprising groups which contain the same combination of particular updatesdistributed according to the date of install. Since it had bean so very longa timeand had not bean notified of any new updates I removed one of them thatI didn't paticulaly care for andwindows updatepromptly offered it back to me along with it's usual sales pitch.

Are your updates configured to download and install automatially at a preset time?
August 12th, 2009 3:03am

Yes, and they have been since I installed 7 RC on the day it was released. I had been manually checking for updates with no success...that is inexplicably, until today.I know that there were updates to Forefront and with all the other Microsft products that are on my machine, I find it highly unlikely that there were no other updates in9 days. These actually did not show up until I manually checked but to be fair, Windows Update is set to check at 4:00am so they may well have shown up tomorrow morning.Again, prior to 8/2, the frequency of updates was staggering.Theres no 'splain'n it! :\Michael
