Help joning domain on Windows 7 Ultimate
I have a Windows Server 2003 computer that I just recently set up as a Domain Controller. The other Windows computer runs on Windows 7 Ultimate. Whenever I type in the domain (homedomain ,not very creative) into the Windows 7 computer, it asks me for a User Name and Password for an account that has permission to join the domain, I made one on the server called "test" and the password "Password2" and then it just loads for a bit. After that, it tells me, "The fallowing error occurred attempting to join the domain "homedomain": The network path was not found." I am good with computers, just not with networks, so I will be able to understand much of what you tell me. I just need help. Thank you for your time.

Hi, Did you try adding the WIN7 machine with the FQDN (fully qualified name) of the domain e.g.something like homedomain.foo.com? you need the fully qualified domain for that user with the admin privileges. im not sure how your test account is set up...but try these.. in the user name field try: homedomain\test if its a local account your user name would be: localpcname\test (obviously replace localpcname with your actual server name) let me know if that works out!
