You don't use the registry to set Group Policy. You use the Group Policy Editor. Start>Run>gpedit.msc [OK]. Be very careful using the Group Policy Editor; it is quite possible to lock yourself out if you don't know what you're doing.Questions about using Group Policy should be asked in the appropriate TechNet forum:http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/categories/MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!

I do not say this to hurt your feelings but you don't seem to know what you're doing. If you have a lot of computers, then presumably you are using Active Directory on your server (which OS?). Permissions/restrictions are set using Group Policy on the server. Further fine-tuning to the workstations can be made by tailoring the Default Profile as desired and creating a master image. All of which are complicated subjects and can't be summarized in a quick forum answer. You need to read up on deployment (TechNet is the best place to start) and then post any questions you have in the appropriate TechNet forum as previously suggested. When you post on TechNet, you will also need to be a lot more descriptive about your network, your server, your workstations, what you need to accomplish, etc.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!

You must be kidding. Thank you so much for wasting my time. The only good thing is that based on what you've written I don't think the rest of us need worry about your mad skilz for quite a while. And no, you can't get help for this sort of nonsense here. If you can't figure out where to go, then you should find another "hobby".MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!
