Home Network
Desktop - Win 7 Professional 64 bit; Laptop - Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit; Router Linksy E3000; desktop has Ethernet cable to router; Laptop uses wireless connectivity to router; desktop and laptop access Internet with no problems. Printers are
attached to the Desktop via USB cables.
Sometime during that last week, the laptop was able to print. My wife (her laptop) and I do not remember that last time that something was printed from the laptop but is was within the week.
Neither desktop nor laptop can see each other on the homegroup network. Windows Explorer shows both Homegroup and Network in left pane. Homegroup shows no devices. Network shows only the local pc. Net Share (cmd prompt) on desktop shows the devices
as shared.
The laptop cannot connect to printers (both HP) nor to a shared drive. Laptop cannot find printers when using the Add a Printer path for printers. Laptop cannot add the drive via the
\\pc name\share name (did not try cmd prompt for net use).
I have tried reconfiguring the network from multiple functions but with no success.
On the laptop, Norton Internet Security was updated from free to purchased version. On the Desktop NIS v11 was replaced with a purchased version of v11. Standard upgrades (i.e., Win 7 sp1, etc) have been applied.
Thanks
Bob

I suggest you disable any services from NIS and then check the result. If it does not work, please let us know if the computers can access each other of both of them are in Safe Mode with Networking.
Additionally, please let us know the error message when it fails to access each other. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
