First, I have been all over the internet for two days and I see some of the same problems and none of them has actually answered the question of "Why home group sharing settings will not save?" (just on my laptop) Both of my computers can access each other and both can see each other. On the desktop, anyone who is sharing can bee seen in the home group. On the laptop none of the users a visible in the home group. The laptop also will not save the settings of which files to share. I have seen one solution that skirts around this issue; which is to click on the folder I want to share and select the users I want to share it with, but that is not a solution to why my settings will not save on the homegroup. It also will not make the users on the laptop visible to the homegroup. I am an admistrator, but I am not very computer handy. Any help here would be appreciated.

I have tried the trouble shooter to know avail. I am not sure as to which event logs you would want me to look for specifically, but I do not see anything related.

If have much the same problem on my PC (Win 7 Ult) Have already (previously) found and completed all steps that appear here: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/44464-homegroup-change-file-folder-sharing-settings.html, but the problem still persists. Laptop (Win 7 Pro) cannot access PC anymore, previously had a folder sync'd via Sync Centre, Trouble shooter has achieved nothing even after running multiple times on Both Laptop and PC. Only recent changes had been the May 11 2012 MS updates. Any other suggestions?
